Eddy current separator can create a strong and high frequency alternating magnetic field via its high speed rotating magnet rotor which is assembly by the strongest permanent magnet exist Rare Earth Magnet also known as NdFeb Magnet.

The Alternating magnetic field generate induced current principle to the non ferrous metal carried into this field and induce a opposite direction and the repulsive force function can eject the non ferrous metal pieces from belt surface and realize the aim of separation.

Eddy Current Separators are wildly used to separate and recover non-ferrous metals in many industry or application such as

So what factors will effect the performance of an eddy current separator?

1.Rotor Speed
The rotor rotation speed effect the frequency of alternating magnetic field, the frequency can be increased when the magnet poles number stays the same and rotation speed goes up or the ration speed stay the same when magnet rotor designed with more poles. However non ferrous ejection results can not get better along with alternating magnetic field frequency forever, it will stops and keep steady when frequency reach certain level.

2. Poles Number of Magnet Rotor

As explained above, when the rotor speed keep steady, the number of poles will effect the frequency of alternating magnetic field.

3. Rotor Position

CHNMAG Eccentric eddy current separator equipped with eccentric rotor which means the magnet rotor position in side rotation drum can be adjusted, the non-ferrous metal eject area can be adjusted manually to reach the best separation result.

4. Belt Speed

The belt speed of eddy current separator determines the burden depth of materials on the belt, thin material burden depth is better for eddy current separator to sort out non-ferrous metals, that is why machine always equipped with vibration feeder to feed material on to the belt in order to get better distribution and thickness of material burden.
