Overband Magnetic Separator also known as cross belt magnetic separator, overband magnet, overbelt magnetic separator, suspended magnetic separator is a standard magnetic metal sorting machine to sort out ferrous metals from conveyor belt system. Overband magnetic separator (cross belt magnetic separator) should be installed over exist conveyor belt, the ferrous metal on the conveyor belt will be pulled out from material flow and attched to the discharge belt of overband magnetic separator when materials flow pass the magnetic area of cross belt magnetic separator . And the metals will be discharged out side of the conveyor belt area along with the rotation of the magnet discharge belt. 

Overband Magnetic Separator (Cross Belt Magnetic Separator) can continuously remove the ferrous parts without extra control from manpower during operation.

With different magnetic force source

Overband Magnetic Separator (Cross Belt Magnetic Separator) can be be categorized as Permanent Overband Magnetic Separator and Electro Overband Magnetic Separator. 

1. Permanent Overband Magnetic Separator used permanent magnet (ferrite magnet or rare earth magnet assembly) as the magnetic force source.

2. Electro Overband Magnetic Separator used wired coil as magnetic force source.

The two models of overband magnetic separator have their own advantage and dis-advantage, the suitable choice is depend on the specific application requirements.
